Exhibition Details
The third Kentucky National will be a survey of the most interesting trends in contemporary art. It will encompass traditional and new media and will be open to all artists living and working in the United States.
ELIGIBILITY
The show is open to all artists 18 years and over, all media accepted. The work must be original, completed recently, and not previously shown in Eagle Gallery. Size restrictions: pieces must fit easily on a freight elevator, call for exact dimensions. An artist statement will be requested from all accepted artists. Accepted video artists may supply equipment or be added to a looped tape with other video artwork on one screen.
JUROR, MARK MASUOKA
Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Mark Masuoka earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Hawaii in 1983 and a Master of Fine Arts degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 1987. In 1989, Mark established the Mark Masuoka Gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada. After four years in the commercial art business, he entered the non-profit arena and was appointed Director of the Nevada Institute for Contemporary Art in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shortly after relocating to Denver, Colorado in 1999, he became Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art/Denver. In July 2003, Mark was appointed the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. Currently, he serves on the Omaha Public Art Commission and on the Board of Trustees for the Alliance of Artists Communities.
